The Bulls were made to work for everything they got in scraping past Harlequins 19-12.

Despite a man of the match performance from Brett Kearney after his move to full back, Bradford laboured to create clear-cut chances in a tight game.

They went behind to a score from Chris Melling off what looked a blatant forward pass by Chad Randall.

But Michael Platt scored straight from the kick off and Kearney touched down to ensure they went in ahead at the break, Matt Orford kicking one goal.

The impressive Steve Menzies finished a superb move soon after half-time, Orford improving and the Bulls looked set to run away with it.

But Danny Orr intercepted an Orford pass to run in from 60 metres and Luke Gale added the extras to ensure a nervy finish.

A penalty and drop goal from Orford made sure of the two points.
