Michael Platt hopes his return to fitness can coincide with the Bulls’ return to top form.

The utility back made his season debut at Hull FC last week, following his return from a knee injury, as Bradford suffered their second straight defeat.

Prior to tough away games at Hull and Warrington, they had won three in a row and Platt admits there is a pressing need to rediscover that winning habit.

Sidelined since January with a torn posterior cruciate ligament suffered in a freak training-ground collision with Chris Nero, Platt (pictured) has mostly been a frustrated obs-erver.

But, handed his chance when Matt Orford was ruled out of the trip to the KC Stadium with injury, he took it with both hands and is keen to contribute to a winning Bulls side.

“It’s been a long time,” he said.

“I think it’s ten to 12 weeks, which is about the right time for a PCL, so I can’t grumble too much.

“But it’s good to be back because it does get lonely just training by yourself or with the physio. It’s good to be back with all the boys.

“I came back on the first day and I did a long pre-season. I felt really fit and I was looking forward to the opening game, so it was a massive blow at the time but I can’t dwell on things.

“Hopefully I can help the team push on to the next level and start picking up a few wins.

“We’re not pleased because we’ve not got as many wins as we would’ve wanted.

“Bradford’s a big club and we need to start picking up results – there are no excuses.”
