Bulls captain Andy Lynch has warned against complacency when they lock horns with Championship side Dewsbury Rams in the Challenge Cup.

Bradford were handed a trip to Tetleys Stadium on the weekend of April 16-18 in tonight’s fourth-round draw.

Coached by former Bulls player Warren Jowitt, the Rams won promotion back to English rugby league’s second tier as Championship One winners last year.

Narrowly beaten 26-22 at Toulouse in their league opener, they overcame amateur side Drighlington 42-10 in last week’s third round tie.

The surroundings will be somewhat familiar to the Bulls, with pre-season visits to their Yorkshire neighbours becoming a regular fixture in recent years.

A youthful Bradford side were held 24-24 at Tetleys Stadium in January by a fit, well-drilled Dewsbury side and Lynch knows exactly what to expect.

He said: “We’ve kept away from our Super League rivals but we played Dewsbury in a friendly and they showed up well so we’ll have to take our A-game and expect it tough.

“I spoke to Waz (Jowitt) as the draw was made and he had a laugh about not rolling the field and churning it up for when we get there.

“I’m sure they’re looking forward to it because it’ll be a good game financially and in terms of entertainment.”

The Bulls have been installed as fourth favourites at 16/1 to lift the trophy at Wembley in August by official bookmakers William Hill, with St Helens the early favourites.

And they will be glad to have avoided any of their major rivals in a draw that included four all-Super League ties.

The pick of the bunch sees high-flying Hull FC host Leeds Rhinos and last year’s finalists Huddersfield take on Hull KR.
