As thrilling as Friday’s win against Wigan was, the Bulls are not about to let it linger in their thoughts.

Although the elation of their 22-20 triumph will have a strong galvanising effect on belief and morale at Grattan Stadium, it will not go to the players’ heads.

Less than an hour after scoring a last-minute try – his first for the club – to complete an incredible revival from a 20-0 half-time deficit, Glenn Hall already had set sights on the next challenge.

The Bulls travel to high-flying Warrington Wolves on Saturday keen to prove their performance against the previously-unbeaten Warriors was no fluke.

“I’ll have a smile on my face now but, saying that, we’ve got another tough game next time against Warrington,” said Hall.

“We can’t live off this for too long, we need to get ready for another challenge.

“It was good to get a win like that but we shouldn’t have had to be getting those late tries to win the game.

“I’m pumped to get the try, don’t get me wrong, but we’re just making those silly errors in the first half and chasing games. We shouldn’t be doing that – but I’m still extremely happy.”

Hall could not have asked for a better way to claim his first Bulls try, touching down between the posts to hand Matt Orford the simplest of match-winning conversions.

The 28-year-old pack man, an off-season signing from Manly, has not been entirely pleased with his performances since making the move to Super League.

But Hall has become an important source of impact off the bench in the absence of injured prop Danny Sculthorpe and hopes to use Friday’s win as a turning point.

“It was amazing when I put the ball down, just to see the elation on all the boys’ faces,” he said.

“The screaming and talking that was going on in that little huddle is one of the reasons you play footy. It’s the highest of highs and the camaraderie between the boys is great.

“My personal performances have been a bit flat of late. There’s a lot of things I need to be working on and I’ve probably been a bit down on myself when I shouldn’t be so much.

“I’ve taken a lot out of the last couple of weeks and hopefully that’s a good start for me, a good turnaround and will put me in the right frame of mind.”
