Glenn Hall is determined not to bow to peer pressure.

So far this season, the big Aussie forward has been sporting an impressive handlebar moustache, which has quickly gained the admiration of the Bulls faithful.

But the fetching facial hair is inspired by nothing more than a desire to wind up his new team-mates.

“At first there was no thinking behind it,” said Hall.

“Last year I had a mo and a goatee when I came over for the World Club Challenge, so I thought I’d grow one again.

“The goatee bit started to annoy me, so I shaved it off and just left the handlebars. Then, I was speaking to a couple of friends back in Australia and they told me how much they hated it, so I decided to keep it just to annoy them.

“Some of the boys here don’t like it either, so I think it’s going to stay for that reason!”

Hall, who made his debut in last week’s 24-12 defeat at Huddersfield Giants, has quickly settled in since making a winter switch from Manly Sea Eagles.

The 28-year-old second-rower has already revealed plans to fit in some sun bathing when the winter weather clears and has had few problems adjusting to English culture.

Following the lead of fellow countryman Steve Menzies, he has even taken up a traditional pastime and is eyeing a future behind the oche when his rugby career ends.

Hall explained: “Beaver’s got us onto the darts. He’s actually shot a 180. He’s got 100 photos to prove it and I think Scruts was there as well.

“We put two dart boards up at the training ground, so me and Beaver had to go out and buy brackets for them and while we were there I decided to buy my own darts.

“I’m not too bad. I can hit them around the right area but it’s just getting that treble 20 that’s the hard part.”
