Semi Tadulala believes victory over Wakefield is the first step towards the Bulls proving all the doubters wrong and reaching the play-offs.
The 36-22 success over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats was their first win in three games and only their second home victory of the year.
The Bulls have never failed to make the top five in Super League and after a horrendous first half to the campaign, the morale-boosting triumph still only lifted them to 12th place.
However, wingman Tadulala, who returned to action against his former club after hamstring trouble, believes it can be a real catalyst.
“Half the season’s gone now and we’ve forgotten about it,” he said.
“We will deal with it one game at a time, be consistent and turn up for every game for the rest of the season and, if we get into the top eight, the rest will take care of itself. Anything can happen. If we can string a few wins together, we can sneak up there.”
Bulls vice-captain Glenn Morrison agrees.
He narrowly missed out on a comeback from his own injury problems against Wakefield but is set to replace France-bound Sam Burgess for Sunday’s trip to Halliwell Jones Stadium to face Warrington.
“We know we’re a semi-final team and we want to be there at the end of the year, so that’s our goal,” added the Aussie second-row.
“We’re still a little bit off – we only completed about 33 per cent in the first half – so we’ve got a lot to work on.
“But we said we wanted to finish this second half well and make a run for the finals and this was the first week, so hopefully we can go on from here.”
