The Bulls Reserve Grade failed to overcome Castleford Tigers at The Jungle.
Centre Karl Wroe bagged a brace of tries but the visitors still lost out 28-18. They trailed 8-6 at the break and never recovered.
Other touchdowns came through winger Ethan Phillips and replacement Jack Ely. Keiran Hyde also kicked a goal but it was not enough against a Cas side that moved above the Bulls into fifth place.
Former Bull Luke Helliwell was among the Tigers try-scorers, along with Dale Turner, Adam Milner, Ryan Boyle, Richard Jones and Shane Tasker-Howard.
Next up, Bradford face a Wakefield Trinity Wildcats side who will be playing their first game since the tragic death of player Leon Walker last month.
That fixture takes place at Belle Vue on Saturday, kicking off at 2.30pm.
