Ben Jeffries today urged his Bulls team-mates to concentrate on sharpening their own individual games – and team success will follow.
The stand-off’s performance was one of the few bright spots as winless Bradford slumped to another defeat against Hull FC.
He has had his knockers recently but grabbed one excellent try, created two others and said: “Individually, I’ve been pleased with my own game for the last couple of weeks.
“I know I’ve made errors and need to fix up my defensive work but overall I’m happy with how I’ve been going, especially my running game. I’ve been making breaks, supporting well and setting up tries, it’s just collectively as a team we’re not clicking.
“We’re still being positive but we’ve just not put it together on game day yet when it matters most.
“We have to concentrate individually on what our roles are and what we can do better. If we can each fix our own part, then collectively it will all come together.”
Heads dropped versus Hull after the visitors shot into an early lead and there were far too many mistakes. Many players lacked conviction and former Wakefield No 6 Jeffries admitted: “Probably confidence might be down with a few of the blokes.
“I’m not down at all though. I’ve been in this situation before with other teams where we’ve lost three on the bounce.
“I know how to react to that but it might be new to some of the blokes here with Bradford being so dominant in the past.
“Once we get one win though, I’m sure we’ll get much more confidence and things will build.”
