Fit-again Jamie Langley is ready to solve Bulls coach Steve McNamara’s hooker dilemma.

The back-rower hopes to be included for Sunday’s visit of Hull FC after missing the last three weeks with a dislocated shoulder.

And he has offered to act as a makeshift No 9 if needed after bench hooker Wayne Godwin broke his leg at Wigan.

McNamara will need to spell first-choice Terry Newton at some point this weekend and could use Ben Jeffries – with Steve Menzies switching to stand-off – or Glenn Morrison. But the versatile England international has played everywhere in the pack during his eight years at Odsal, including hooker, and won’t mind helping out at dummy half.

“I’m not a stranger to that position,” he said. “I have pretty much played everywhere at some stage or another.

“If I do get selected, I’d like to think I’m pretty compatible and could throw myself in there. I did 40 minutes at hooker for England against Wales before the World Cup as well so it wouldn’t be new to me.”

Langley, 25, feels ready to return to Super League after suffering his injury in the opening-day draw with Hull KR.

“I’ve trained fully for the last two weeks now, done all the contact sessions, all the skills work and pushed some weights fine, with everything feeling good,” he added.

“Fortunately, we had that week off without a game so I’ve only missed two matches and I’m really pleased I’ve managed to turn it around so quickly. Now I’ll just have to see if I get the nod.”
