Upbeat Steve McNamara won’t let the fixture mess-up frustrate his Bulls side.
Having had their opening game postponed, Bradford finally began Super League XIV with Sunday’s 13-13 draw against Hull KR.
But in the latest round they face a free weekend due to Harlequins’ friendly with Manly Sea Eagles on Sunday – when they hoped to be in action against the Londoners themselves.
Privately, the club are seething by the way their schedule has panned out, especially having also been forced by the RFL to scrap one of their friendly fixtures.
It has created a stop-start effect but McNamara said: “While we’d prefer to get straight back out there, these are the cards we’ve been dealt.
“What it does is give us the opportunity to work for a few more days on areas we need to brush up on.
“We’ve had a fascinating review process, seeing our overall dominance of the Hull KR match and how close we were on numerous occasions to putting the game to bed. It’s just the execution that let us down.”
The Bulls have to wait until a week Friday to start setting things straight, against Huddersfield Giants.
McNamara added: “Against Hull KR, we restricted the opposition to just 700 metres in carries and missed only 11 tackles.
"There was a lot of good work, yet we made 21 errors and we all feel partly responsible for what happened.
“But I’d have been more disappointed if I’d have been on the other side and got totally dominated.”
