Dave Mordue and Jon Hamer have taken over the running of the Bradford Rugby League Past Players’ Association.
The pair are now working hard looking for former Northern and Bulls players as they seek to get numbers up in the organisation.
The Association’s first major event is a dinner at the Cedar Court Hotel on Friday, February 6, when Robbie Paul will be guest speaker.
Mordue, who played for Northern between 1975 and 1985, said: “Things had gone pretty quiet but we’re looking to get people involved again.
“We want to take things to another level and are opening it up to everyone involved with the club over the years.
“It’s not just ex-players but supporters and businesses too. Everyone’s welcome to the dinner and we’re trying to spread the word as much as possible.”
Prop Hamer retired from the Bulls in 1996, having played more than 250 games for the club, and coached the British Police side on their tour of Australia last month.
Mordue said: “Jon’s the same as me. He wants to get things moving.
“We managed to attract about 60 ex-players to the last dinner in February when there were 280 guests in total.
“But now we’re looking to build on that and it’s something we think is really worthwhile.”
Anyone interested in attending the dinner, joining the Association or helping with sponsorship should contact Mordue on 07941-615946.
