Bulls skipper Paul Deacon is “in the shape of his life.”
That’s the view of boss Steve McNamara after seeing his little general back out on the training park.
Deacon was running again just over a week after minor knee surgery, to the delight of his head coach.
The scrum half had had some cartilage cleared up that had been left over from a previous operation.
But McNamara is keen to point out there was never any drama about the situation.
“I’ve got to stress, there’s nothing major happening with Deacs’ knee,” he said.
“He only went back in for a simple flush-out when he realised his last op hadn’t fully repaired.
“It was the earliest he could do it because of other work on his PCL but there was never anything serious and he was back with us running in eight days.
“He’s fully training with us now and is fit and raring to go.
“In fact, Deacs looks as healthy as I’ve ever seen him and he’s in great shape.”
