Steve McNamara holds no fears putting his Bulls stars out at Keighley but admits: I'm no friendly fan.

The sight of David Solomona and Semi Tadulala getting seriously crocked against Wigan may have made Bradford's boss think twice about fielding his stars again this Sunday.

He will send out a full-strength side though, with only player of the year Glenn Morrison not considered for their final warm-up.

"We're going to give everyone another run-out," McNamara confirmed.

"We are disappointed to get those two injuries, of course, but we need to play again and that's not changed.

"We've got a week off after Cougars and then it's into Super League."

The majority of the Bulls squad got a first taste of action in the Wigan defeat last weekend but at a price, with Solomona and Tadulala now set to miss the first three rounds.

McNamara admitted many of his other players also had problems given the poor conditions.

"There were lots of tight hamstrings, quads and calves against Wigan," he said.

"People were complaining about how tight they felt after the actual warm-up but it wasn't a surprise coming back from what we'd been running on in Lanzarote to here.

"Those sort of injuries are preventable though and we got players off during the match."

McNamara continued: "I'm certainly not a big fan of pre-season friendlies. I think they are a trap. All they give you is an indication of what you still need to work on.

"It is really difficult gauging how much to do and getting that combination right.

"For me, the fitness aspect isn't an issue but footballing wise there are things you need to do as you can't really replicate them in training.

"Against Wigan there were things like mis-timed runs and not turning up for pass plays, both things we need to work on against Keighley."

The same fixture at Cougar Park ended in an 88-0 rout last season as McNamara put all his big guns together for a sole outing before Super League.

He would have preferred to have done the same this time, admitting: "In reality, that Wigan fixture was an extra game.

"If we're being right we probably would have elected not to play it but it was a testimonial we'd agreed to and were happy doing so.

"Last year though we just had one real hit-out at Keighley and we did okay at the start of the season on the back of it."

Kiwi star Shontayne Hape gets his first pre-season action as does fellow centre James Evans.

Prop Matt James also returns to the squad after being rested against Wigan although Simon Finnigan is out with a groin strain and Morrison continues his recovery from shoulder surgery.

McNamara is confident the influential Australian will be fit for the opener at Wakefield on February 10 but said: "We want to give him as long as we can and give him that extra couple of weeks to make sure he's right.

"I've no hesitation in putting him straight into Super League with no pre-season game.

"That doesn't worry me with Glenn; he's a very good professional and experienced player who knows what he needs to do to be ready."
