The Bulls were today left counting the cost of Paul Deacon's testimonial with THREE players crocked and David Solomona potentially missing six months of the new season.

Bradford went down 28-16 against Wigan but the scoreline mattered little given the extent of the injury list facing Steve McNamara afterwards.

Kiwi star Solomona was stretchered off early in the second half with suspected cruciate damage after collapsing while making a tackle.

He hobbled away from Grattan Stadium last night on crutches preparing to discover his fate later today.

With the season's kick-off just three weeks away, new signings Semi Tadulala and Simon Finnigan also suffered injuries to leave McNamara's plans in disarray.

"With Saul it's definitely his medial ligaments but it could be worse," said the Odsal boss. "We'll find out tomorrow whether it's his cruciate as well.

"It's not a good one but how bad we'll have to wait until the specialist sees him.

"Semi's fractured his cheekbone as well while Simon came off with a groin strain so it's not a great day in terms of injuries.

"We've got a few other minor ones too who we took off as we went along."

Bulls centre Shontayne Hape missed six months of last year with a cruciate injury. If the worst-case scenario is confirmed for Solomona it will be a massive blow for a player who is seen as pivotal in the Bulls' bid for success.

The second-rower has just recovered from shoulder surgery in readiness for the new campaign and was hoping to make a big impression.

Tadulala, meanwhile, scored his first Bulls try today and was Bradford's sharpest player but he went off towards the end after colliding with Wigan's Liam Colbon while challenging for a high ball.

The Fijian winger will miss the Super League opener at former club Wakefield on February 10 and faces up to six weeks out.

Bradford had only returned from their warm-weather training camp on Thursday night and understandably looked sluggish against Wigan.

"We'd obviously had a big week in Lanzarote and got through a lot of training," said McNamara.

"We looked like we hadn't played a match but we've got a squad of players who will be a very good side throughout this season. They didn't show too much of that today but I never really expected us to be right on top of our game and Wigan played very well."
