Jamie Langley admits he fled the country to AVOID watching Great Britain!

The Bulls star is gearing up for a big 2008 after being sidelined for the last five months and with the World Cup looming large next year.

Langley made a try-scoring Lions debut against France in June but a serious wrist injury soon sidelined him for the rest of the campaign.

He missed out on Britain's impressive Test whitewash of New Zealand, a bitter pill to swallow for the hard-working loose forward, who concedes he didn't hang around to watch the contests. "Luckily enough, I managed to get away on holiday for two weeks so I missed the first couple of games," Langley said.

"I did get some phone calls though from friends and family telling me all about the Sam Burgess show!

"The lads did really well and it was great for British sport to see us win a series for the first time in 14 years. It was a great feat doing that and hopefully we can continue it on into 2008 with England.

"But, to be honest, by the time the season had come to an end and having been on the sidelines for so long I'd had my fill and wasn't fussed about watching any more rugby.

"I wanted to get away rather than watch the Tests and I enjoyed the break."

The 24-year-old is hoping for an injury-free season after a stop-start 2007.

He believes all the Bulls are looking in good nick as they prepare for Super League XIII - and their first friendly at Dewsbury on Sunday.

"It's one of the biggest squads I can remember here and it's got quality, experience and depth," Langley said.
