Karl Pryce insists injuries alone ruined his brief flirtation with rugby union and he has "no regrets whatsoever" about leaving the Bulls.

The player had just been named in a Great Britain train-on squad when he departed last year, turning down a new and improved contract to join Gloucester.

That lucrative deal backfired though as he failed to make any impact in the 15-man game.

A broken foot soon after his debut saw him set back and he was farmed out on loan to National One part-timers Moseley.

Pryce is now back in Super League with Wigan barely 12 months on but said: "I don't wish I'd stayed at Bradford; I don't regret a thing.

"I always said I wanted to try union but a lot of people say that and never do.

"Later in life they regret never doing it but I won't. I've been and tried it out.

"At the end of the day it was all down to injuries. That's the only reason why I wasn't successful.

"I'm gutted it's not worked out but it's time to move on and get a fresh start."

As they still held his registration, Pryce could have tried to pursue a move back to the Bulls.

However, it is debatable whether Steve McNamara would have wanted the player back at Odsal and, regardless, their salary cap is full for 2008.

"Bradford is my home town and it would have been nice to go back but I didn't really look at that option," said Pryce, who is moving back in with his parents in Bradford.

He revealed: "I'm a Wigan fan. I supported them when I was younger and obviously to go and play for the team you supported as a kid is quite an honour."
