Bulls star Joe Vagana hasn't ruled out a return to international football.

The veteran prop, 33 next month, might make a swansong at the World Cup.

Vagana won the last of his 26 New Zealand caps more than two years ago but could represent Samoa in Australia alongside cousin Nigel and Bulls team-mate David Solomona.

"Never say never," said Vagana, who first featured with them in the 1995 World Cup.

"I might try and get on the trip - as Samoa water boy or something like that!

"It would be good to get picked but there's a lot of quality around.

"There's Wigan's Iafeta Paleaaesina, Leeds' Kylie Leuluai and a few others so it'd be tough to get into that side.

"Samoa will have some good players and could be the World Cup dark horses."

However, if he repeats last season's form, the hard-running front-rower would easily warrant a spot with them.

Rejuvenated Vagana proved one of Bradford's most formidable players, rolling back the years with some power-packed displays to earn a contract extension and deservedly lift the club's forward of the year award.

The giant prop, who represented Samoa in the 1995 World Cup, put that success down to a big fitness push this time last year and is now doing the same.

"I'd rather play 100 games a year than do pre-season training but it has to be done and it's always good to get it under your belt," said Vagana.

"I definitely benefited from it last year and am now looking for the same.

"I'm feeling good, there's some new methods to keep it interesting, the new guys have fitted straight in and we're all striving to improve this season."
