Bulls fans shouldn't get their hopes up too much about Sir Ken Morrison investing some of his millions into the club.

The Bradford-born boss of the supermarket empire is imminently set to retire from the business world, raising the prospect he might turn his attentions to the Bulls.

"We are aware Sir Ken is retiring - on March 14th at 5pm!" smiled a knowing chairman Peter Hood at Monday's annual meeting.

"The club from time to time does see Sir Ken and he is on record as saying what a fan he is of Bradford Bulls.

"Until he retires from what he is presently doing, he's 100 per cent focused on that but he will retire at his company's annual meeting.

"There's been no discussions of any description that might link Sir Ken to this club - but we're always happy to talk to anyone who wants to talk to us."

Hood, meanwhile, was re-elected, along with deputy Stephen Coulby, while Ian Illingworth was confirmed as a new director.

"It's not the first time Mr Ilingworth has been proposed for election," he explained. "He served for a number of years - six in total - prior to the Super League era. Ian, who is a finance director primarily by training, concluded a successful business career recently and, very fortunately, I was able to persuade him to add his weight to this board.

"From that perspective of finance director he's made a considerable contribution since joining in March."
