Lesley Vainikolo won't let the occasion get to him again as he bids to bow out on a winning note - with or without a customary try.

The Bulls star admits his overwhelming Odsal farewell caused him to stutter against Hull two weeks ago as he desperately tried to sign off with a try-scoring flourish.

He makes his final appearance versus Leeds Rhinos tomorrow and concedes he will be tackling things differently.

"That (Hull) was really emotional and draining," he said.

"I was a bit frustrated and I tried too hard but when you've got so many fans behind you, you just want to do what you can and make them happy.

"Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but I'm still recovering now.

"I'm definitely going to be different tomorrow. I'm going to be more relaxed and just concentrate on what we need to do to try and take the victory. Then see what happens."

The intense hype surrounding Vainikolo's swansong ahead of his move to Gloucester has reached fever pitch again ahead of the Headingley showdown.

It is no surprise given the Tongan's amazing achievements, scoring 148 tries in 151 Bulls games. But Vainikolo said: "I think some people do take it a bit too far.

"Leeds and Bradford is the big rivalry and I just want to do it for the team. These are the big games I look forward to."

Vainikolo held a celebratory barbecue at his home last weekend where friends from all over the game - including Leeds, Wigan and Hull - came to say their farewells.

It was joked that they arrived just to make sure he was actually going but the food-loving winger insisted: "I think they just came for the feed!"
