OSCAR Thomas is hoping to keep his place ahead of Richie Mathers when the Bulls face promotion rivals Leigh at Odsal on Sunday.
Thomas made an assured competitive debut at full back during Saturday's romp against Swinton at Widnes after Mathers was rested.
With Mathers having played in the opening two games against Featherstone and Whitehaven, it remains to be seen if head coach Jimmy Lowes will recall the former Super League star this weekend.
Thomas, who was solid defensively and regularly supported the attack during the 48-16 win over Swinton, is waiting to see if he has done enough to keep his spot.
The close-season signing from London Broncos said: "After not getting picked for the first two weeks, it was good to get out there on Saturday.
"I hope I put down a marker and we will have to see what Jimmy does – but ideally I'd like to be in team week in and week out.
"Richie brings a lot of experience to the team and, to be fair to him, he has helped me out in training.
"I've watched him on video and am asking a lot of questions, so you get to learn from him.
"It was good to play in the two friendlies against Leeds and Castleford but even better to make my competitive debut.
"I felt good on Saturday and my fitness was fine, so it was good to blow the cobwebs off.
"The pitch at Widnes allows you to run faster and suits my game better, so I'm not going to complain. Hopefully I've done enough to keep my spot."
The Bulls were backed by several hundred supporters at Widnes and such vocal support, especially away from home, is not what Thomas was used to as a London player.
The 22-year-old, who can also play half-back, said: "Bradford have a big away following and it's always great to play off the back of such a great support.
"They were loud all the way through Saturday's game and I'm enjoying life in Bradford.
"I live in the city centre with Omari Caro and being a Bulls player is definitely a step up from the Broncos.
"Having been at the Broncos and London Irish, it's interesting to see how different environments work."
