Bulls' Terry Newton has had his appeal against a three-match ban turned down today by the Rugby Football League.
The Great Britain hooker was given the suspension after the RFL disciplinary committee ruled a tackle on Leeds' Jamie Thackray was "reckless" and "high" in the controversial Millennium Magic defeat.
Newton was hoping to get the ban overturned after Thackray had written a letter, absolving him of blame.
It means the No 9 misses the Bulls visit to Wakefield in the Carnegie Challenge Cup on Sunday.
