JIMMY Lowes insisted he was "never worried" as the Bulls survived a searching examination to edge past struggling Whitehaven 32-16.
The Cumbrian hosts hit back from 16-0 down to level the scores before tries from Danny Addy and Danny Williams (2) in the final quarter settled the match in Bradford's favour.
It was an 11th straight Championship victory for Lowes' men and the Bulls chief was ultimately left pleased with a hard afternoon's work.
"It's always tough up in Cumbria when you play Workington, Whitehaven or Barrow," he said.
"Whitehaven had a real go and there is a passion for the game up here.
"They love getting stuck into the opposition, so fair play to them – and fair play to our boys because we came out on top.
"I never felt too worried and the disappointment was the soft try we conceded at the start of the second half.
"We just needed to play a bit smarter in the second half and we did that. We pulled through, so credit to the boys."
The Bulls struggled to complete their sets and made numerous handling errors but Lowes was not overly concerned.
He said: "I have to say I'm not disappointed with our completion rate. We want to play expansive rugby when the conditions allow us to do that.
"Within that, you're going to get errors – but that's part and parcel of how we're trying to play."
Asked about the character that his players showed in seeing off Whitehaven, Lowes said: "There was character all the way through the game there, not just in the last 20 minutes.
"Even though things didn't happen for the first 15 or 20 minutes, I thought we showed great character and resolve to just hang in there – particularly after they had a spell at the end of the first half and start of the second half. But I thought we hung in there."
The Bulls, who picked up no new injuries, are not in action again until the Summer Bash encounter with Halifax at Blackpool on Saturday, May 23.
Despite having no game next weekend, Lowes said: "The players will be in. I don't like having time off."
