STEVE Crossley admits he was bursting with pride after making his second debut for the Bulls in Sunday’s win at Doncaster.
The Bradford-born prop came off the bench to play his part in the 56-38 success and said he was delighted to be back in the red, amber and black.
Crossley progressed through the ranks at Odsal before leaving the club in October 2011 after less than a dozen first-team appearances.
He successfully reinvented himself at Dewsbury and Featherstone in the Championship before returning to Super League with Castleford at the end of 2014 – only to rejoin the Bulls last week.
Crossley, who tweaked a hamstring at the Keepmoat Stadium and could be doubtful for Sunday's visit of Sheffield, said: “The Championship is a league I’m obviously familiar with but there was a real sense of pride in getting back out there and pulling the Bradford jersey back on again.
“As soon as I saw my shirt with my name on, I felt really happy to be back.”
Crossley admits there is plenty of room for improvement following the Doncaster victory.
The 25-year-old former Clayton amateur added: “I think we made hard work of it ourselves more than anything.
“With the high scoreline, we showed we can score a lot of points but defensively there are still a lot of things to fix up.
“Sometimes you’ve got to win ugly but we can be impressed with our attacking performance.
“We’re striving to improve to make sure that we are back where we belong next year and that’s up in Super League competing with the best.”
