HARRY Siejka has been dealt a major setback after being told his ankle injury will sideline him for the next 10 weeks.
The 23-year-old Australian, a close-season signing from Wakefield, sustained syndesmosis damage and a fractured tibia during Sunday's victory over London Broncos.
He will undergo surgery tomorrow and is expected be out of action until July.
Head coach Jimmy Lowes could now turn to Jake Mullaney to fill the void left by Siejka, with Danny Addy another option.
Lowes said: “It’s disappointing to lose Harry for such a lengthy period of time because he was growing in confidence and finding form.
“We have cover in the halves but we will definitely miss him in the coming weeks and months ahead.
“He will be well looked after, though, and will get the very best treatment. We will see him back in action in the summer.
“Harry's rehabilitation will begin pretty much straight away, with him going under the knife tomorrow, and we will closely monitor his progress.”
Meanwhile, front-rower Karl Davies has returned to full training after recovering from a similar injury.
The Australian prop has spent over eight weeks sidelined and is now working his way into contention to feature.
