ETU Uaisele says legendary former Bulls winger Lesley Vainikolo is inspiring him to score tries for the club.
Uaisele has touched down in the past two games after being recalled to the side, his first scores since notching on his debut in the opening-day defeat at Leigh.
The Tonga-born 30-year-old is hoping he has nailed down his spot for Sunday’s visit of Hull KR in the Challenge Cup fifth round.
He met Vainikolo before the season started and received advice from his fellow countryman, nicknamed the Volcano, who bagged an incredible 149 tries in 152 appearances for the Bulls.
Uaisele said: “There was a bit of pressure with me coming here and playing on the wing after everything Lesley Vainikolo achieved here.
“I spent a bit of time with Lesley during the off-season and you could just tell why he was so good.
“He’s a monster, a really big boy, and it’s great for me now to be playing for the Bulls.
“I was too nervous to even speak to him at first because I had never really met him properly before.
“But he just told me to go out there and do better than what he did when he was a Bradford player.
“That was pretty big and I’m just going to do my best and see how far I can go. I’m starting to get more confident and to play better every week.”
Meanwhile, Harry Siejka, Adrian Purtell and Lee Gaskell are due to be assessed today following the injuries they suffered in Sunday’s win against London.
