RYAN Shaw is hoping the Bulls can keep their winning momentum ahead of the looming Challenge Cup date with Hull KR.
Jimmy Lowes’ men will go into the fifth-round showdown on the back of nine straight wins if they can see off Dewsbury and London Broncos in their next two games.
The Good Friday win over Halifax was the Bulls’ seventh victory in succession following the opening-day defeat at promotion rivals Leigh.
Shaw, who is enjoying an outstanding season, said: “Hull KR are a good team and they have made some good signings.
“Terry Campese, the half-back, looks a very good player and it will be a real challenge for us.
“It’s going to be tough but these are the sort of games we want to be playing in every week next season.
“It will give us a good marker of where we are and it’s important we keep building momentum leading up to the Challenge Cup game.
“I think there is a lot more to come from this team – we can definitely get better.”
Lowes was left fuming with the paucity of the Bulls’ first-half display during the Halifax win, where Shaw claimed a 16-point haul with a try and six goals.
The Cumbrian said: “I didn’t enjoy the first half because it was really tough and Halifax played really well, so fair play to them.
“But we came out in the second half after a rollicking from Jimmy and I think that’s what we needed.
“We got back to ourselves, playing really fast, and we did what they did to us in the first half by kicking early.
“They weren't the best conditions to be playing full back but being there allows me to support the attack.
“I pick my players to follow because I know who the dangerous ones are in our team.
“I’m ready to play against Dewsbury now. I don’t know much about them but I want to be involved again.”
