ROB Parker is not bothered about the Bulls’ rivals next season and reckons they should focus on being “masters of their own destiny”.
Head coach Jimmy Lowes has stated that he is not concerned with other sides in the division and is concentrating solely on what the Bulls do.
Commercial manager Parker, Lowes’ former team-mate in the all-conquering Bradford side of yesteryear, has applauded the approach.
Parker said: “Jimmy is not bothered about any other team – and he shouldn’t be bothered by any other team.
“You’re only in charge of yourself and being masters of your own destiny.
“That’s the mindset that Jimmy has and the players seem to have adopted that mentality too.
“Therefore they are just worried about what they can control and Jimmy wants them to go out and play.”
Like Bradford, Parker’s old club Leigh are expected to finish in the top four of the Championship and qualify for the Super Eights.
But the former Bulls prop, who ended his playing career at Leigh and later became general manager, believes Paul Rowley’s side face a challenge in making the transition from part-time to full-time rugby.
Parker said: “Leigh had a great season last year but full-time rugby is hard because there is more fatigue on your body and the quality of training sometimes diminishes.
“It worked well for Leigh last year but going full-time can be a bit of an unknown.
“That said, they have got some good players – they gelled last year and they have brought some good signings in – and I think they will do well.
“It doesn’t take a scientist to work out that Leigh will be up there but I’m only concerned with Bradford Bulls.”
