MARC Green has told Bulls fans to expect some "uncomfortable viewing" next season as every one of their Championship rivals go gunning for the division's prize scalp.
But he maintains that if the players keep their discipline and work ethic, their superior quality will ultimately see them to their goal of promotion.
After presiding over the club’s second administration in less than two years and relegation last season, Green is desperate to make amends in 2015.
He has assembled a 30-strong full-time squad, which includes several of the club’s leading players from last season such as Lee Gaskell, as well as some notable new recruits.
But he is braced for some tough trips to places such as Workington, Whitehaven and Batley as the part-time teams seek to topple Jimmy Lowes’ men.
Chairman Green told the T&A: “We will unarguably be the biggest team to play in that league in modern times.
“As a result, you expect every single team you come up against to step up their game when they play us.
“It’s like Sheffield United from the third division doing brilliantly to beat Premier League opposition (Southampton) in the League Cup recently.
“Nine times out of ten, you would put your house on the Premier League team winning and Sheffield United won’t beat every team in League One this season.
“However, they step up their game against higher-placed opposition and that’s how I see the pitfalls for next year.
“When we go to places like Batley and Whitehaven, they’re going to want to prove a point – and that can make for uncomfortable viewing.
“Obviously we expect to be in the Super Eights because of the fact that there are four places available and we’re one of only three full-time teams.
“We expect to be there but you don’t always get what you expect in life.
“If we’re good enough at the end of the Super Eights to finish in the top three then we will go up. If we’re not, then we will have to fight it out in fourth or fifth for that final place.
“But in life, and I genuinely believe this, you tend to get what you deserve.
“We regrettably deserved to be relegated and if we deserve to get promoted then we will. If we don’t, we won’t – it’s as simple as that.”
Green feels he has proved his doubters wrong with the playing squad and coaching staff that has been assembled.
The Safeguard Security boss, who first got involved in the Bulls when he made a six-figure loan last autumn, said: “There was a barrage of misconceptions that I was only in it to get the parachute payment and do a runner over the hill and far away. Clearly that isn’t the case.
"There are some comments from supporters who are saying ‘where is the investment? The club has created this membership and put its prices up but they have done nothing with the money they’ve got.’
“Well, I think we have. We’ve got a full-time squad and I think we’ve got the best backroom staff in the league. I think it is equally as good as some Super League teams.
“I think we’ve got a brilliant head coach and we have invested in some phenomenal systems behind the scenes to maximise performance potential.
“If you look at the success that the coaching staff have had at their various clubs, if we harness it all together then I can’t see how they can fail.
“I never do anything for the sake of it. I only do whatever I do to be first. I aspire to be the best.
“There is no point in this journey unless we achieve our ultimate goal, which is a return to the top flight at the end of the first season outside it.
“Sport can be a great leveller but all you can do is stick to your principles, stick to your guns, motives and goals; then hope if you play right then you win right.”
Green is also working behind the scenes to transfer ownership of Odsal back into the club’s hands.
