ADAM Sidlow reckons there will be no messing about with Chev Walker as captain next season.
Bulls boss Jimmy Lowes appointed the former Leeds man as his new skipper last month.
Sidlow has applauded the move and believes his team-mate’s leadership qualities will hold the team in strong stead as they chase promotion back to Super League.
Prop Sidlow said: “Chev is one of them, he’s straight as a dye, and if you’re not working hard he will tell you right away, whether he’s captain or not.
“I think the younger lads look up to him because he’s played so many Super League games.
“They can learn a lot from him and if they do half of what Chev is doing, and what he has done, then they won’t go far wrong.
“He’s very professional and always gives 100 per cent in training and games. Even when he’s injured, he’ll still go out there and perform.”
Sidlow, like a growing number of rugby league players, has a sideline away from the game.
In the Bulls prop's case, it is a personal training gym in Wigan called Wild Bull Fitness, which he established with Stephen Wild.
Although only 27, Sidlow is preparing for life after rugby league.
“The business is going well and I can’t play rugby forever,” he said.
“I’m only 27 and I’d like to think I have a few years left in me as a player but you need something to fall back on.
“We’re looking at extending the gym at the moment. It’s going really well and I’m enjoying it.
“You know what you get with Jimmy, it’s very tough and at this time of year the pitches are bad so it doesn’t really help.
“But it’s all geared towards getting us straight back into Super League and that’s the most important thing.”
