CHAIRMAN Marc Green has reiterated his commitment to the Bulls should they be relegated from Super League.
The club’s owner took the decision to sack Francis Cummins and assistant Lee St Hilaire yesterday in a bid to beat the drop.
It is understood the Bulls are also considering further action to win back the six points they had deducted for entering administration.
The penalty was upheld last week but Green believes the club can win enough games to stay up.
Furthermore, he has told supporters he is committed to returning the Bulls to their former glories.
Green said: “I’m becoming tired of being questioned over my long-term plans and whether I will stay around if the club are to be relegated.
“I have stated publicly both in matchday programmes and in the media that I am in it for the long haul.
“To add further weight to this, I was recently made aware that a club chairman has the honour of leading the team out at Wembley in a Challenge Cup final.
“As a result, I am determined to rebuild this club, to be able to compete for such honours again.
“One of the main driving forces behind this is a desire to make my father proud and to lead the club out at a Challenge Cup final would be very special indeed.”
Green added that, if the club are relegated, he is committed to retaining a full-time squad and has no plans to move from Odsal.
Cummins, who joined Bradford as assistant to Mick Potter in 2010 before being appointed as his successor in September 2012, was unavailable for comment yesterday.
But St Hilaire admitted the news was a bitter pill to swallow after his eight-year spell was ended.
The assistant coach, who was sacked on his lunch break from training yesterday, said: “It was a tough one to take to be honest but I’ve had some great times and will always be grateful to Steve McNamara, Mick Potter and Franny for giving me a chance.
“I think what has happened here over the last couple of years, and not getting any points back last week, took a lot of stuffing out of people.
“Then we came across a red-hot Salford side on Sunday but I’ve had a great time here.
“Franny and I are both proud men wand we had a great bond, so today is obviously a very disappointing day. I hope to get another job in the game as soon as possible.”
