The Bulls have been asked to provide “further supportive information” to back their appeal against the six-point penalty for entering administration.

An independent Sporting Sanctions Appeal Panel today heard the club’s case as put forward by owner Marc Green but no outcome is now expected until next week.

The Bulls said in a statement this evening: “An independent Sporting Sanctions Appeal Panel today heard evidence prepared on behalf of Bradford Bulls.

“The panel has requested further supportive information and is to decide on the outcome of the appeal in due course. We can make no further comment.”

Green launched the appeal on the basis that the administration was “unforeseeable” and “unavoidable” and the panel will consider all the evidence from the Bulls and the RFL before passing judgement.

The panel includes Bill Broughton and Chris Booth, who are partners at Leeds-based legal firm Pinsent Mason, and James Sleight, an insolvency practitioner.
