Danny Bridge today joined the Bulls on a one-month loan deal as Hull FC named Garreth Carvell in their 19-man squad to face Catalan on Friday.
Warrington forward Bridge is the younger brother of former Bradford centre Chris Bridge and can play in the back and front row.
Bridge will spend the next month on loan at the Provident Stadium and increases numbers in Francis Cummins’ squad after Carvell’s departure.
Cummins said: "I coached Danny and Adam O'Brien when he was with England Under-16s.
"He's big and strong and he's got some skill about him. He can put some big hits in."
Cummins is keen to add at least one prop to his squad after Carvell returned to Hull.
"He's made his decision," Cummins said of Carvell's departure.
"It's disappointing but, if a player doesn't want to be here, you have to move on.
"We've brought Danny Bridge in and that will probably be it for this week but we are looking at other options as we speak.
"We need another middle (forward) or two. We knew we had to any way when we had Gaz. We need to bolster the squad in that area."
Hull today confirmed the signing of Carvell on a one-year contract with the option of a second year.
They said in a statement on their official club website: "Hull FC have confirmed that former Black and Whites prop Garreth Carvell has returned to the club and has been named in Lee Radford’s 19-man squad to face Catalan Dragons on Friday.
"The experienced forward made 164 appearances for the Airlie Birds between 2001 and 2008 and featured in two Challenge Cup finals and one Grand Final as well as earning selection for Great Britain.
"He returns to East Yorkshire on an initial one-year contract with an option for a further 12 months, and could make his second Hull debut against the Dragons at the KC Stadium on Friday evening."
