Francis Cummins believes the Bulls’ partnership with Dewsbury will continue to prove beneficial to both clubs ahead of tomorrow’s trip to the Tetley’s Stadium.

Cummins has named a youthful squad to face Glenn Morrison’s Rams and is confident the dual registration arrangement which saw a number of Bradford players turn out for the Championship outfit last term will prove a success again this year.

Several Bulls players made a number of appearances for Morrison’s men in 2013 but Adam O’Brien played regularly and returned to Odsal primed to establish himself in Cummins’ side.

The Bulls coach is set to hand opportunities to youngsters such as Brad Adams, Sam Bates, Adam Brook, Jordan Gale, Nick Gomersall and Emmerson Whittel tomorrow, while on-loan Warrington youngster Tom Walker will also feature.

Cummins said: “We have a number of good, up-and-coming players in the team and a game against a strong Dewsbury side will prove hugely beneficial for them.

“All of them have a massive opportunity. This is a real chance for them to stake a claim, bringing them into future contention.

“In terms of the partnership with Dewsbury, we’ve got a really good relationship with them and Adam O’Brien is a great example of what can come of it.

“Adam went there with a great attitude last season and took a bit of time to get used to it but grew accustomed to it and put in some really good performances.

“There will be more like him. It was good for Donno (James Donaldson) to play a few games at Dewsbury and then come back and play for us. It’s a good vehicle all round.”

Given that Cummins only has a small squad at his disposal, it remains to be seen how many players he will allow to head to Dewsbury throughout 2014.

But it seems likely that a number of his younger squad members will spend some time with Morrison’s men.

Cummins added: “Like last year, we will dual reg all the players that we can.

“There are probably some players who are more likely to play at Dewsbury than others but who knows?

“It’s a juggling act because you have to make sure players are match fit.

“They can train all you want but a game is different.

“You’ve got to play games, especially the young lads who don’t play as many games now, so they need to be tested.

“They’re going to have to play but that’s what the game is all about.”
