Bradford Bulls 30, Hull FC 18
Francis Cummins was left delighted as the Bulls outclassed Hull FC in their opening pre-season friendly this afternoon.
Cummins’ men were 24-0 up at half-time after tries from Nick Scruton, Adrian Purtell, Danny Addy and Jamie Foster.
Adam Henry added a fifth immediately after the break as a Hull side featuring plenty of first-team regulars were put to the sword.
Cummins included new recruits Lee Gaskell, Henry, Garreth Carvell and Warrington loanees James Saltonstall and Joe Philbin.
The only concern for the Bulls coach was the sight of Scruton departing the action shortly after he opened the scoring, having picked up an injury.
Gaskell, meanwhile, enjoyed a fine first half at full back, Carvell was impressive both halves and Henry was assured on his bow.
Lee Radford’s visitors hit back with three tries in the last five minutes when Jamie Shaul, Josh Bowden and Jordan Rankin touched down.
Joe Westerman converted all three tries but the Bulls were long since home and dry.
