Jamie Foster believes Francis Cummins has three of the best half-backs in Super League at his disposal in Lee Gaskell, Jarrod Sammut and Luke Gale.
Gaskell joined the Bulls from St Helens during the off-season and has made it clear his preferred position is stand-off.
Sammut, however, enjoyed a fine season as Cummins’ regular No 6 last term and will aim to keep his place in 2014.
Provided the Bulls are not forced to offload any of their playmakers, Foster is predicting a battle royale for starting spots, with Danny Addy also capable of playing in the halves.
Foster said: “If we can keep hold of those three players – Gasky, Jarrod and Luke Gale – then they are as good as anyone in Super League.
“Some people might rave about Matty Smith and Blake Green, who are good as a pair for Wigan, but I think we can match them with the halves we have.
“I just think they are three fantastic players – but there are only two shirts to pick from, which means they’re going to have to be playing well to get into the side.
“If we’re going to get the best out of them, then the team are just going to thrive off the back of that.
“If they can do that, and I’m confident they can, then it should be a pretty good season.”
