New Bulls recruit Adam Henry has been tipped to prove a resounding success at Odsal this coming season by team-mate Manase Manuokafoa.

The 22-year-old New Zealander has joined the Bulls from NRL champions Sydney Roosters and is aiming to establish himself in Francis Cummins’ plans ahead of next month’s pre-season friendlies.

Henry has a fine pedigree, having played for the New Zealand Warriors and been part of their Under-20s side which won the championship in 2011.

The former Junior Kiwi then made the switch to Sydney and played regularly for the Newton Jets in the New South Wales Cup before coming to the attention of the Bulls following a recommendation from ex-Bradford coach Brian Smith.

Manuokafoa said: “Adam has looked very good in training so far and is only going to get better during the rest of pre-season and when the season starts.

“He’s still young and will continue to improve. We know he can play and he’s just got to kick on now and get to know how we play and what Bradford is all about.”

Training alongside the likes of Anthony Minichiello and particularly Sonny Bill Williams at the Roosters was an experience to savour for Henry.

Manuokafoa added: “He’s trained with one of the best players in the world in Sonny Bill and has obviously seen some pretty high standards, which he will bring here.

“That’s what we want and I’m sure he’s going to be putting his best foot forward for himself and the team.”
