Francis Cummins remains hopeful that his search for talent during the World Cup could yet bear fruit.
The Bulls coach took in a number of matches during the tournament with a view to potentially adding to his squad.
Cummins has so far recruited six new faces since the end of last season in Lee Gaskell, Garreth Carvell, Adam Henry, Luke George, Dale Ferguson and Frank Winterstein.
The Bradford boss said efforts were continuing to possibly bring in another player or two on the back of his recent scouting missions.
Cummins explained: “There were a couple of players who came to my attention and we’re having to work through things.
“There are things that are progressing but at this moment in time there is nothing ready to be announced.
“It would be nice to get one or two more players in but we’ll see what happens. I’m certainly very happy with the players we’ve signed and with how the squad is shaping up.”
Cummins is particularly pleased with the fitness and application shown by Henry in his first couple of days as a Bulls player.
The New Zealander only arrived in England for the first time at the weekend but has wasted no time acclimatising to life in West Yorkshire.
Cummins plans to use the 22-year-old primarily as a centre but says his versatility and ability to play on the wing would prove useful throughout the season.
“Adam is an impressive athlete,” added the Bulls coach.
“He’s in great shape but a big part of me bringing him to Bradford was his attitude.
“I did my research on him and the first thing I discovered was that Adam could play. The second was that he’s a great lad with a great attitude.
“If you’ve got a great attitude then you’re halfway there – now it’s down to us to make him a better player.
“You look at his frame and we’re looking at him as a centre but it’s a long old season and you’ve got to be able to play all over the place.”
Meanwhile, Cummins said he was close to announcing his captain and squad numbers for the 2014 campaign.
Cummins is still working on a deal to bring Warrington forward Ben Evans back to the Provident Stadium following his successful loan spell during the 2013 campaign.
He said: “Obviously Ben’s loan has expired now so we need to get that sorted.
“A few things are stopping it so we just need to speak and move things on either way.
“The straight answer is that Warrington probably do want him but for longer-term.
“I’m sure that Ben is looking to play for them but hopefully we can get him back here next season.”
* The Bulls’ board of directors will field questions from season-ticket holders at a fans’ forum in the Coral Stand tonight (7pm start).
