Robbie Hunter-Paul has urged Bulls fans to snap up season tickets ahead of today’s early-bird deadline as he set his sights on matching last year’s figures.
The Bulls sold 4,200 season tickets in 2012 before the deadline for the cheapest deal ended.
It was announced at a fans’ forum on Wednesday night that 2,691 fans had bought season tickets for the 2014 campaign but Hunter-Paul said sales were strong yesterday and he is hoping for a huge flurry ahead of today’s 6pm deadline.
The Bulls chief executive wants the club to equal last year’s early-bird figure and the overall figure of approximately 6,000.
He said: “It would be nice to get to 4,000 and to possibly even equal last season’s early-bird figure.
“Looking further ahead, we would like to get between 5,000 and 6,000 season-ticket holders.
“That’s the benchmark from last year and I would stress to the fans just what outstanding value a season ticket at Bradford Bulls represents.
"There is massive potential at the club and being a season-ticket holder allows fans to be a part of that as well as enjoying a massive range of discounts.”
Meanwhile, Curtis Naughton has joined NRL champions Sydney Roosters following his recent emigration to Australia.
Despite having two years left on his contract at the Bulls, the 18-year-old full back opted to quit the club and pursue a career Down Under.
He will play in the club’s youth ranks and is confident of making the grade at the highest level.
Naughton said he left the Bulls because coach Francis Cummins only picked him once in the first-team – on the final day of the season at home to Huddersfield.
Naughton said: “I wasn’t getting played in first grade when I should’ve been.
“They (the coaching staff) had signed me to be part of the full-time squad. But why? They weren’t playing me.
“I didn’t know why last year and I still don’t know because no one ever told me.
“Plus being stuck in the Academy team, which is like an under 19s competition, it just didn’t feel like my game was improving.
“So I left. I’ll be playing in the Holden Cup next year which I’m really looking forward to because it will be a real step up.
“And from there, I just want to keep improving. I’ve played a game in the English Super League and my goal is definitely the NRL.”
