Rugby Football League director of standards and licensing Blake Solly is “hopeful” the Bulls’ change of ownership will finally be ratified within the next 14 days.
Solly met with newly-appointed finance director Andrew Calvert and the club’s other shareholders at the Provident Stadium on Wednesday morning.
The Red Hall compliance boss was impressed with Calvert’s hard-headed business approach and expects to receive the Bulls’ final business plan, cash-flow forecasts and proof of funds today.
Solly will subsequently present the information to the RFL’s board of directors, who will then make a final decision – but no announcement is expected until the week beginning October 28.
“It is encouraging that Andrew has now come on board and we had a very a positive meeting on Wednesday,” said Solly, who will meet the Bulls board again next Tuesday.
“Andrew had a very good grip on the club’s finances and has a prudent and commercial approach.
“We are now looking forward to receiving the business plan and the other necessary documentation by close of play today.
“I will then present the information to the board of directors for a decision. A final decision is likely to be made as soon as possible after that.”
Pressed on whether he expects the Bulls to get the green light, Solly added cautiously: “We haven’t seen the business plan yet but I am hopeful.
“I am certainly more encouraged after the meeting I had with the guys on Wednesday.”
