Bulls boss Francis Cummins believes newly-appointed Under-19s coach Richard Tunningley “fits the bill perfectly”.

Tunningley has joined the club from Castleford, where he was working as head of youth development, having also served the Tigers as player performance manager since April 2010.

Tunningley was also assistant to Danny Orr while he was in temporary charge of the senior side and will link up with the Bulls on November 1.

Cummins said: “We wanted someone who could do a great job for the 19s and who could also help out with the first-team, so Richard fits the bill perfectly.

“His appointment will be crucial in terms of us continuing to deliver a great pathway for the club’s younger players.

“He’s been an assistant as well at Cas but the main attraction was his experience with youngsters and he has similar ethics to us with regards what we’re trying to achieve as a club.”

The appointment of Tunningley is a welcome addition to Cummins’ expanding team, giving the Bulls coach effectively a second assistant alongside Lee St Hilaire.

Cummins added: “Having a lot more staff will allow us to break the squad down into smaller groups and work on a more individual basis.”

The bulk of the Bulls squad – minus Scotland duo Danny Addy and Dale Ferguson and Wales pair Ben Evans and Elliot Kear – report back for fitness testing on October 28.
