Ben Evans believes he can force his way into Tony Smith’s star-studded Warrington squad next year.

The Wales forward is on a season-long loan at Odsal but is under contract to the Wolves until the end of 2014.

Evans has impressed for the Bulls since making his long-awaited debut in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup win at Rochdale on April 21.

A permanent transfer cannot be ruled out but Evans has enough confidence in his ability to make the grade at his parent club.

“If I can produce the form I know I’m capable of, then I believe I can push for a squad spot at Warrington next year,” he said.

“If I was to stand here and say no, then I wouldn’t have faith in my own ability, so why would anyone else?

“So I’d like to say yes, I can. I’ve got another year at Warrington so at this moment in time I’m going back there at the end of the season.

“Mike Cooper is joining St George in Australia and whether I’ll fit in there at the end of the year depends on what other people do and what Tony thinks.

“But I would like to go back and play at Warrington – actually play rather than just train there. That’s down to Smithy and how they are squad-wise.”

Evans, 20, has played the last six matches for the Bulls since recovering from hip surgery which sidelined him for four months.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bradford and it’s been great to play a few games in a row,” he said.

“It’s a good chance for me to play in Super League and show Tony that I’m capable of doing so. That then gives him something to think about.

“I’ve spoken to him a few times, and I obviously spoke to him through my injury, but my main focus right now is performing for Bradford.”
