Heath L’Estrange has urged fans to turn out in force tomorrow night as the Bulls seek to cut deadly rivals Leeds down to size.

The club’s joint-captain believes his side can replicate last season’s famous home win over their sworn enemies, when over 20,000 saw Bradford edge a fraught Good Friday clash.

A crowd of around 14,000 is expected tomorrow when Francis Cummins’ men bid to bounce back from Sunday’s defeat at Warrington.

L’Estrange said: “As players we always get up for the Leeds game and the fact it’s on Sky probably won’t help us crowd-wise.

“We want 25,000 and, while I don’t think we’ll get that, we need people there from both sides.

“Our fans always back us in numbers and they can help make the difference again this time by turning out in force.”

The former Manly hooker, 27, is preparing for fatherhood after announcing at the weekend that his wife Jessica is pregnant with their first child.

L’Estrange added: “Jess is 12 weeks pregnant and we’re very excited. It’s been a long time coming and we’re both ecstatic.

"I’ve spoken to a few of the guys such as Chev, Scrutes and Disko about fatherhood. They’ve all said it changes your life for the better. It’s our first, so we won’t find out whether it’s a boy or girl, but we’re looking forward to it already.”

L’Estrange also reserved special praise for team-mate Adrian Purtell, who has re-established himself as a key player following his return to action last month.

The Australian centre was sidelined for ten months following a heart attack last May and L’Estrange said: “Purts went through a really tough period last year and his off-season was hard, with him not knowing if he was going to play rugby league again.

“To come back as strongly as he has is all credit to him. We need to give him the ball more during games.”

Cummins yesterday named Matty Blythe in his 19-man squad after eight games on the sidelines with ankle and back problems.

The on-loan Warrington centre has been picked ahead of Michael Platt in the only change to last week’s squad.
