Francis Cummins and his players enjoyed their latest bonding session earlier this week with a trip to Leeds.

They played pool at the Northern Snooker Centre on Kirkstall Road before heading to a city-centre restaurant for lunch.

Last month the Bulls squad went go-karting, and Cummins said: “We try and do something every month.

“After Easter, we just needed to go and relax and have a laugh.

“Yes, you’ve got to train and be physically ready but mentally you need to have a bit of a lull as well.

“Having said that, the players were still competing against each other.”

Cummins and his back-room staff partook in the pool competition, and the Bulls coach added: “Danny Addy and Adam Sidlow won the pairs competition.

“I was awful in that game – I let Nick Scruton down – and I had to apologise to him!

“But it was good. My job is basically to tell the players what to do most of the time.

“There are also times when you’ve got to muck in and enjoy spending time in a working environment when the players don’t feel as if they’re being tested.”
