Jamie Foster is aiming to unleash two weeks of frustration when he becomes reunited with a number of old friends at Rochdale on Sunday.
The Bulls winger sustained an injury to his left ankle in the victory over Salford on Easter Monday and subsequently missed the past two matches against London and Wigan.
He is now set to return in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup fourth-round tie against a Hornets side coached by former St Helens under-20s boss Ian Talbot.
Rochdale boast several former Saints players in their squad such as Gareth Frodsham, Warren Thompson, Alex McClurg and Gareth Langley.
The partnership they enjoy with Foster’s home-town club has seen a number of younger players, including Tommy Makinson, become dual registered with the Hornets.
Reflecting on his recent injury setback, Foster said: “It’s been really frustrating because it’s an injury where I’ve just had to rest up.
“All the lads have gone out on the field and I’ve been sat twiddling my thumbs in the physio room.
“But I’ve made real progress this week with my running and am nearly up to 100 per cent.
“I’ve been very well looked after by the physio team here and am just looking forward to getting back out there now because two weeks off is more than enough.”
The Bulls are overwhelming favourites to reach the fifth round but Foster warned: “Rochdale are going to be very pumped up on Sunday.
“I know a few of their players from St Helens and I know their coach Ian Talbot. He’s a pretty aggressive bloke and he did the St Helens under-20s last year.
“Rochdale have a link-up with Saints, so I’m sure I’ll know a few of their players and that will bring some added spice to the game for me.”
Meanwhile, the Bulls’ under-19s bounced back from last week’s drubbing at the hands of Wigan Warriors with a spirited 26-18 home victory over Castleford Tigers tonight.
Alex Mellor’s late try confirmed the victory for Paul Medley’s side, who also scored through Kyle Moore, Danny Gregory, Todd Binns and Stephen Copeland.
The result lifted Bradford to 11th in the table, ahead of Widnes Vikings.
