Aireborough Lions under-tens brought the curtain down on a hugely successful season with an unbeaten two-day tour of the North-East.
The boys won the Brookes Contracting Trophy after beating Durham and Sunderland in back-to-back games.
And the following day at the Darlington Festival, they continued their good form by defeating four very strong sides to win their group, narrowly missing out on the winners’ trophy on points difference.
Head coach Granville Sellars, who led the touring party of 13 players and three coaches, said: “The tour was a massive success, both on and off the field. We have ended this season with a record of only three defeats in 40 games, a terrific achievement.”
Aireborough Lions’ junior section now boasts eight age groups from the age of four through to under-13s.
