Prince Henry’s Grammar School hooker Jack Walker is looking forward to England Under-18s’ FIRA/AER European Championship final against France in Grenoble tomorrow (4pm).
With a record crowd of 20,000 expected at the Stade de Alpes, England have made encouraging progress in this year’s tournament, beating Portugal 82-8 in the opening round before overcoming Scotland 25-12 in the semi-final.
Walker said: “It’s going to be massive. The French fans will be loud, and their players will have a big crowd behind them. It’s up to us to hold our nerve.”
Walker is joined in the front row by schoolmate Paul Hill, while Lewis Boyce, also of Leeds Carnegie, is on the bench.
