Horsforth schoolgirl Nimrah Haq is celebrating after winning a silver medal in a top competition.
The 11-year-old, a Year Six pupil at the Froebelian School, achieved her success at the 29th Traditional Taekwondo Association British Individual Championships.
Froebelian headmaster John Tranmer said: “As a school we aim to celebrate and encourage all the children’s achievements, in or out of school time.
“We are very proud that Nimrah’s commitment to this sport has been recognised with a silver medal.”
The TTA was set up by grandmaster TK Loh in 1989 in order to spread taekwondo as a holistic concept of training the mind and body.
