Wyke Wanderers under-nines A team put the previous week’s disappointing defeat behind them to see off Clifton 4-0 in the RCD Huddersfield League .
Wyke’s goals came from Jack Leach (2), Reece Clay and Stan Cahill.
The B team, also playing Clifton, followed up with a 4-3 victory.
Luke Morphet and Sam Kershaw netted for Wyke after Clifton had taken a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Stand-in volunteer referee Mark Hanson missed Logan Jean-Jacques’ goal as it was scooped out just over the line on his blind-side.
As if to make a point, Jean-Jacques then went on a rampage, netting twice to seal the victory.
A hat-trick from man of the match Attah Rehman and further goals from Oliver Gustab and Sam Wainman secured all three points for Wyke Wanderers under-12s in their Division One clash against local rivals Westwood Jets.
Wyke fought back from two goals down to go level at half-time.
Wyke then took the lead, only to be pegged back by a Westwood equaliser but two more second-half goals after a nailbiting finale saw Wyke win 5-3.
In Division 12D of the Craven, Aire & Wharfe League , Bradford Park Avenue Eagles beat Thackley Thunder 4-1.
The breakthrough came when two Thackley old boys combined from a corner, Josh Barrett whipping in a great ball for Danny Frost to head home for the Eagles.
Bradford’s second came from the spot after Zac Sangster was brought down in the box by Levi Henderson-Lee. Sangster dusted himself off to despatch the penalty.
In an even game, the next goal was going to be crucial and that went to the home side when Sangster ran on to a lovely Jack Holroyd flick and provided a cool finish.
Thackley pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time through a Henderson-Lee free-kick.
The second half was pretty tense, and tempers nearly boiled over between Hend-erson-Lee and man of the match Eisa Faulding, both players receiving yellow cards.
With the defences excelling, a tight second half saw only one goal, but it was the goal of the game, with Sangster bursting through and firing hard and low under the keeper.
His second hat-trick in two games crowned a great overall team performance.
BPA under-14s won a game of two halves in an 11-goal thriller against C Division rivals Eldwick Juniors.
BPA took the lead when Connor Barley’s well-placed strike on the edge of the 18-yard box found the back of the Eldwick net.
It was soon 2-0 when Oliver Raistrick scored his third of the season.
Barley got his second and BPA’s third and the gap increased further when new signing Brandon Doherty scored. Billy Enoch then made it 5-0 with a curling shot.
Eldwick managed to get a goal back going into half-time but the gap was back to five when Oliver Raistrick grabbed his second of the game.
BPA then took their foot off the gas and let Eldwick get back into the game by conceding some sloppy goals.
At 6-5 it was a thrilling end to the game but BPA held out to claim all three points.
Man of the match on his first game for BPA was Kayode Ajayi.
BPA under-18s won a nail-biting game at Wilsden .
With the score at 2-2 following Harry Hall’s brace, Avenue forced a last-minute penalty, which Luke Grey converted to clinch all three points.
Avenue man of the match was Abdullah Mohammed.
Prospect Juniors battled back from two goals down to draw 3-3 at Eldwick Juniors in Division 15D.
Inspired by the strong runs of man of the match and goalscorer Lewis Searle, Prospect added further goals through Ellis Heald-Smith and Jordon Farrell.
Prospect were unfortunate not to claim all the points when Dan Woffenden hit the crossbar with the last kick of the game.
Ryan Simpson collected two successive man-of-the-match awards as Undercliffe Celtic under-15s edged back-to-back wins to kick off their league season.
They opened with a 5-4 victory at Embsay and followed up by logging a 3-2 midweek home success against Silsden, with Simpson scoring in both matches.
Thornton United beat Calverley United 7-3 in the first round of the Leeds & District under-13 Millenium Trophy .
Uwais Nawaz scored a sensational hat-trick on his first appearance for Thornton and fellow new boy and joint man of the match Connor Atkinson scored a fantastic free-kick into the top corner.
Further goals came from James Parkinson, Jamie Bradley and Sam Thomas.
Keeper Cameron Sutcliffe also had an outstanding game.
