Hosts Sutton and Albion Sports boasted 100 per cent records going into their Craven, Aire & Wharfe Junior League under-11’s clash.
And, while the blustery conditions made good football difficult, at least both sides remained unbeaten after a 2-2 draw.
All the goals came in the first half, Avenue equalising via man of the match Haroon Isa, who finished a slick move, and taking the lead through Mohammed Abbas before Sutton levelled against the run of play.
In the second half, both teams upped their game and created excellent scoring chances but a combination of good goalkeeping and woeful finishing meant the points were shared. Albion captain Aaron Morris was again outstanding.
Shipley Lions notched a last-minute winner against unlucky Bradford Park Avenue Hawks.
Skipper and man of the match Jake Taylor put Avenue ahead and then created the second for Stuart Lee, who volleyed home from inside the box in a 3-2 defeat.
Man of the match James Parkinson bagged a hat-trick as Horton Foxes under-12s beat ten-man Myrtle Park 9-0 at home to stay second in Division C.
Foxes played some brilliant football at times and made the extra man count, other goalscorers being Charlie Raywood, Jordan Hardaker, Rhys Delaney, Daniel Dockray, Liam Hooson and Samuel Troy Daniel Isaacs and Saqib were on target for Bradford Park Avenue under-13s in their 4-2 Division B home defeat against Thackley Dragons. Keeper Nathan Allatt was Avenue’s man of the match.
Avenue under-14s A made it back-to-back victories against Silsden Reds with a 6-0 scoreline at blustery Horsfall.
A first half hat-trick from man of the match Kenny Tafireyi and a close-range tap-in from Macaulay Bayliss sealed the points. Liam Bates and Nayan Mistry added the second-half goals.
A Division leaders Long Lee’s trip to Albion Sports produced a cracker, the visitors winning 3-2.
A tasty strike from new striker Hassan Khan and a goal from Anas Ahmed twice put Albion level but they paid for missing too many chances and for some sloppy defending.
Ryan Simpson, Philip Byron and Nathan Bailey all scored braces as Undercliffe Celtic defeated Bradford Park Avenue 7-1, the tally being completed by Akmal Khan. Midfielder Adam Helliwell was man of the match.
Reul Briscoe netted for Avenue and also hit the bar. Goalkeeper Joseph Allatt was their man of the match for the second week running.
Three goals by man of the match Jack Partington helped Nab Wood under-15s defeat Undercliffe 6-4, Oli Dunn (2) and Joshua ‘Skippy’ Hunter, with a wonder free-kick, completed the tally.
The impact of substitutes Luke Waddington, Ben Higgins and Shakeel Ashraf helped Nab Wood to stay ahead.
Hamza Plaza bagged a hat-trick for BD3 United in their 4-4 draw at home to Sutton.
In the Keybury League, the high wind did not stop BD3 United’s under-sevens defeating Bradford Park Avenue 6-2 at Myra Shay.
Ismail Shahid grabbed a hat-trick to take his total to 13 goals in six games, Zidane Khan (2) and Hassan Mahmood also scoring.
Otley under-eights beat Albion Sports 2-1 with the last kick of the game, Jnai Trought netting for the losers but also missing a penalty.
Another Louis Price brace was enough for Scholemoor under-nines to win 2-1 at Sandy Lane in the Black Division.

Fairbank took the lead and played some good football but were on the wrong end of a 4-2 scoreline at Bradford Park Avenue Raptors.
Taylor Williams scored twice for Avenue in a 2-2 first half and added another brace in the second half, Ethan Scott playing well in Avenue’s net.
Shipley Tigers gave a good all-round performance to earn a 1-1 draw at Guiseley Blues in less than perfect weather.
Tigers’ goal came from William Austin and their man of the match was Benjamin Batty.
Scholemoor under-tens lost 2-0 to Thackley Storm in the Red Division but James Young was on form for Queensbury Celtic Cougars in the Blue Division.
He bagged a hat-trick, including two superb strikes, in the 6-1 defeat of Silsden, Joel Etienne, Max Swallow and Harrison Walker also netting.
In the Yellow Division, Queensbury Colts beat Silsden Reds 3-1, with Dylan Hardaker, Sam Hainsworth and Alex Donlan on target.
Niall Armstrong had a goal controversially disallowed for East Bowling Allstars in their 1-0 defeat against Guiseley – Allstars’ first setback of the season in their ninth match.
Albion Sports Lions had to show resilience in coming from behind to win 3-1 at Pudsey Devils.
Sports’ second-half goals came from man-of-the-match Kyle Murtagh (2) and Callum Chahal, captain Jacob McNulty and Javed Amar battling well in midfield.
Zain Hussain and Asad Ali were the marksmen as Albion Sports Lions returned to winning ways with a 2-0 triumph at Pudsey Demons.
A solid defensive display from Mohammed Ali, Ranjit Singh and man-of-the-match Idrees Ahktar kept the Pudsey strikers at bay. Also midfielders Mohammed Boston and Mosin Rayat showed determination.
Bradford Tigers celebrated their first home match of the season with a 3-1 defeat of Oakworth Hornets in Division A.
However, the hosts could have fallen behind were it not for good defending by Aiden Brocklehurst and Thomas Heap and some exceptional saves by Ella Jones, the latter duo being the men of the match.
Tigers went in 2-0 ahead at half-time after Joel Cargill had been set up by Kai Wood’s superb crossfield ball, Charlie Firth and Aaron Duckett then turning provider for Wood to get the second.
Good work by Harry Farr gave Duckett the chance to make it 3-0 before Oakworth pulled one back.
Jones was again man of the match when Tigers lost at leaders Shipley Lions, Cargill also getting an award.
The previous time East Bowling Allstars under-11s faced Bolton Woods in the Blue Division, the match finished in a 4-4 draw.
This time, however, Woods triumphed 6-1, with the Allstars feeling they were on the rough end of some decisions.
Tyler Marsh scored East Bowling’s only goal, Jake Ingall, Cayden Kendall, Zak Sangster and Sam Foord also playing well.
Wyke Wanderers under-eights but six goals past visitors Dewsbury Rangers in the RCD Huddersfield Junior League, while conceding only one.
Jack Leach bagged a hat-trick, Reece Clay a brace and Reuben Sutcliffe a single but Jacob Smith was unlucky not to score, hitting the woodwork several times.
Some resolute defending on a very windy day earned Kieran McGuire the man of the match award.
Wyke’s B team, who also faced Dewsbury, were in winning form as well, coming out on top of a 4-2 scoreline despite going behind to an early penalty. Ellis Farrar scored a hat-trick, with Logan Jean-Jacques getting the other goal.
Matthew Leaper was Wyke’s man of the match – a reward for some great runs and top defensive play.
Wyke Wanderers under-11s went to Ossett Town Pumas and came away with the points in a game spoilt by strong winds.
Wanderers took a first-half lead when man of the match Attah Rehman set up Sam Wainman.
Playing up the slope and into the wind, Wyke found it hard in the second half and Ossett equalised, despite the efforts of the visitors’ keeper.
Ossett were pushing for the winner but were hit on the break, Rehman this time setting up Nathan Younghusband to clinch all three points.
East Bowling Allstars under-13s faced Dewsbury Rangers, with both teams shining in a 5-3 victory for the Allstars.
On form for East Bowling were Nathan Armstrong, Bradley Oliver, Liam Carroll and Luke Leedham but the whole team performed well in a 5-3 victory.
Jordan Hobson got all five goals but the last was a narrow squeak, the referee saying that the ball was already over the line before Luke Leedham slid in to make sure.
