East Bowling Allstars under-14s played well in tricky conditions but were knocked out of the West Riding Cup 3-1 by HX1 United.
Ryan Pogson netted the consolation goal as Adam Akalach, Rowan Newman, Ethan Sangster and Ellis Coates also did themselves credit.
Four divisions divide Nab Wood under-15s and Thackley but although the 6-0 result went as expected, the underdogs put in a gutsy display.
Thackley’s strength up front eventually determined the outcome, although Nab Wood man of the match and skipper Charlie Hague excelled in defence.
Oli Dunn went close to scoring a consolation goal but it was heroics at the other end of the pitch from the likes of Jordan Fletcher and Aman Israr that typified Nab Wood’s attitude.
